SPOTLIGHT 🔦✨ This weeks Spotlight is on Lorrie Thorson our Branch Manager / voice of Hershey Bank- Greater Omaha social media. Read below to learn more about The Chaos Controller 👠🏦🌪️

1.)What inspired you to be in the banking/lending?

I had an eagerness when I was coming out of high school to increase my own knowledge on banking/finances. I truly fell in love with the ability to help and educate clients on how to make dreams realistic, if planned for well. Ten years later I’m still here!

2.) What has you most excited about this new branch?

To have a space to invite in our community, to foster new relationships and see how Hershey Bank can support the community of Elkhorn.

3.) What is one piece of financial advice you give almost everyone?

It’s never too late to ask for help with your finances. Bankers like me are here to help, never to judge.

4.) What’s your favorite part of helping customers?

The sparkle in their eyes realizing their goals are a heck of a lot more achievable than they thought!

5.) If you weren’t in banking, what would you be doing?

Working for the Denver Broncos in some capacity. I’m a HUGE fan and would love to just support the franchise in any way- even if that means being a water girl!

1.)What inspired you to be in the banking/lending?

Banking and lending play a large role in everyday life. Working in this industry allows me to make a positive impact on clients current and future lives.

2.)What has you most excited about  this new branch?

We have the ability to provide a personal, small town feel in a larger area. I am excited to bring this personalized experience to our clients to the Greater Omaha area.

3.)What is one piece of financial advice you give almost everyone?

Make having a financial safety net a priority. Life is full of unexpected events, having a financial safety net can eliminate a lot of stress during those uncertain times.

4.)What’s your favorite part of helping customers?

Lending allows a unique opportunity to be a part of major milestones in our clients lives. It’s very fulfilling to help make those things happen.

5.)If you weren’t in banking what would you be doing?

I would most likely work for some type of animal rescue/rehabilitation organization.

SPOTLIGHT 🔦✨ This week’s Spotlight is on Scott Bonow, our Vice President. Read below to learn more about our Loan Ranger 🤠.

1.)What inspired you to be in the banking/lending?

I was drawn to banking because it sits at the intersection of problem-solving and people. Lending, in particular, allows me to help individuals and businesses take meaningful steps forward—whether that’s buying a first home, starting or expanding a business, or simply gaining financial stability. Being trusted with decisions that can truly change someone’s future is both motivating and rewarding.

2.) What has you most excited about this new branch?

What excites me most is the opportunity to continue building strong, personal relationships from the ground up. A new branch allows me to connect with the community, understanding local needs, and create an environment where customers feel known, supported, and confident in their financial decisions.

3.)What is one piece of financial advice you give almost everyone?

Be intentional with your money ask questions and have a plan—even a simple one.

4.) What’s your favorite part of helping customers?

My favorite part is seeing the relief or excitement when something finally clicks or comes together for a customer. Whether it’s closing day, a smart refinance, or just answering a question they’ve been worried about, knowing I helped navigate a potential complex process and make it more clear and less stressful is incredibly fulfilling.

5.) If you weren’t in banking what would you be doing?

I’d still want to be in a role centered on helping people—likely teaching, coaching, or consulting. I enjoy explaining complex topics, guiding others through decisions, and seeing them succeed, which is a big part of why banking has been such a good fit for me.

SPOTLIGHT 🔦✨ This weeks Spotlight is on Brett Ehlers, our Executive Vice President. Read below to get to know the Man, the Myth and the Legend!

1.) What inspired you to be in the banking/lending?

I was inspired to be in banking/lending because at its best banking is about relationships and trust, not just numbers. I enjoy helping people make confident decisions that strengthen their families, businesses, and communities over the long term.

2.)What has you most excited about this new branch?

I am excited to help expand the strong values and products that Hershey Bank has to offer into this new community. This isn’t about just opening another branch, its about the opportunity to meet new families, businesses, earning their trust and becoming a long term partner

3.) What is one piece of financial advice you give almost everyone?

Make your financial decisions with the long term in mind, not just what feels easiest today.

4.) What’s your favorite part of helping customers?

My favorite part of helping customers is showing them that our competitive products still come with a bank who knows them and has their best interest at heart.

5.)If you weren’t in banking what would you be doing?

That’s a tough question! If playing terrible golf for fun isn’t an option, I would have to say something around coaching sports.
