To our policy holders in the Midwest,

We hope this message finds you safe from the devastation of today's severe weather. We have received many calls from those impacted by property damage and are working diligently to respond and process claims.

If you are unable to get through, please leave a message and someone will contact you as soon as they can. In the meantime, here are some things to consider:

When it is safe to inspect your property and authorities have allowed access to your property, take pictures of the damage.

Take all reasonable steps to prevent further damage, such as tarping or boarding roofs/windows, and other temporary repairs. Keep all receipts of expenses incurred for temporary repairs.

Only if it is safe to enter the property, separate any items that can be saved, repaired or cleaned. Do not dispose of any items you plan to claim as damaged before talking with the adjuster assigned to you. Take more pictures than you think you need.

Report your claim to your agency or company directly.

Use caution with dealing with contractors or restoration companies who pressure you to sign a contract immediately without a full review or ask you to assign the claim to them. We recommend that you speak to your adjuster before assigning the claim to a 3rd party.
