Most portfolios are built for one version of the future: the last fifteen years, repeated. Rates stay low, multiples stay high, the dip gets bought.

That's not a strategy. It's an assumption, and a fragile one.

Our Founder & CIO, Ryan Fleischer, puts it plainly: "It's all about correct diversification and preparing for every version of what may be coming. Investors have lost their sense of risk mitigation."

At Revolution Group, real diversification means owning assets that can still work if that version of the future doesn't hold, not more of the same expensive bet wearing a different label.

The Price Is Already In. The Complacency Is Not.

By nearly every long-term measure, the U.S. stock market is expensive right now.

The Buffett Indicator, total U.S. stock market value divided by GDP, sits near 237-239% today. It was about 65% in 1929, 85-90% in 1987, and 170% at the 2000 dot-com peak. Warren Buffett once called this the best single measure of valuations, and warned that if it approaches 200%, you are playing with fire. We are well past that line.

The Shiller CAPE is around 41-42, more than double its long-run average of 17. Only the late-1990s peak was higher. Households now hold about 46% of financial assets in equities, an all-time high. The last two times that measure peaked this high, in 2000 and 2021, large drawdowns followed.

None of this means the market has to fall next month. It means the price of ownership is already high, and high prices consume future returns in advance. Valuation models currently point to forward returns of roughly -2% to +2% a year over a full cycle, a meaningful gap from the returns many portfolios are still built to expect.

Our Founder and CIO, Ryan Fleischer: "The data hasn't mattered until it is the only thing that will matter. Then it's too late, and investors have never been more complacent."

Most portfolios are positioned for one version of the future: the last 15 years, repeated. As Ryan puts it: "It's all about correct diversification and preparing for every version of what may be coming. Investors have lost their sense of risk mitigation."

Diversification that only owns different flavors of the same expensive equity bet is not diversification. It is concentration with extra steps. Preparing for every version means owning assets that can still work if multiples compress: cash and short-duration quality, cheaper international exposure, real assets not priced like growth stocks, and liquidity to act if a discount arrives.

The goal isn't to predict a crash. It's to survive the range of outcomes current prices already imply, which is why we build every portfolio around more than one version of what's coming.

In a typical wealth management relationship, when something significant happens, a business sale, an inheritance, a major life change, means a client making several calls: one to the investment advisor, one to the CPA, one to the estate attorney, sometimes one more to an insurance agent. Each conversation happens separately. The client is the one carrying context between them.

At Revolution Group, that's one call. One team, already aware of the full picture, coordinating the response together instead of each professional reacting independently to a piece of it they weren't fully briefed on.

The difference isn't just convenience. It's whether decisions get made with full context the first time, or get revised later once someone finally connects the dots the client had to carry themselves.

A portfolio built five years ago reflected a family's goals and risk tolerance at that exact moment. None of that stays fixed for five years.

Income changes. A business gets sold. Tax law shifts, whether or not anyone updates the portfolio to match it. A plan that hasn't been revisited isn't managing risk anymore, it's managing the past.

At Revolution Group, review isn't an annual formality. It's how a plan stays a plan.

Philanthropy often starts with generosity, a cause that matters, a family value. For families with significant wealth, how giving happens can matter almost as much as how much.

Charitable decisions made without a structure behind them can miss real opportunities, coordinating giving with tax positioning, estate planning, and long-term goals. A generous gift can also be a missed opportunity for real tax efficiency if the timing was never considered.

We think charitable planning belongs inside the full financial conversation, not a decision made once a year.

Up to 80% of privately held businesses listed for sale each year don't sell. Most business owners find that out the hard way, after they've already decided it's time.

At Revolution Group, we treat exit planning as a process, not an event, coordinated years before a transaction is ever on the table. As our Founder & CIO, Ryan Fleischer, puts it: "Personal readiness is the true cornerstone of any successful exit. Liquidity without clarity often leads to regret. When purpose is defined early, the transition becomes a meaningful new chapter, not a loss of identity."

That's the gap most advisory relationships miss. A business can be financially ready to sell while its owner isn't personally ready for what comes after, and the reverse happens too. Real readiness means addressing both, well before a buyer is ever at the table.

A plan can be well built and still fail, not because the strategy was wrong, but because nothing after the planning meeting actually got carried out.

Accounts don't get retitled the way the estate plan assumed they would. A trust gets drafted but never funded. A tax strategy gets recommended in March and forgotten by the time decisions are actually made in December. The plan exists. It just isn't the plan anyone is operating from anymore.

At Revolution Group, ex*****on is treated as part of the plan, not a separate step someone else is responsible for. That means checking that decisions actually got implemented, not just that they got recommended, and revisiting the plan regularly enough that it still reflects who a family is today, not who they were the year it was written.

Automated tax-loss harvesting has become standard across much of the industry, software that sells losing positions on a schedule, regardless of what else is happening in a portfolio.

Our Founder & CIO, Ryan Fleischer, has been direct about why we don't use one: "We've seen people tax-loss harvest blindly on capital losses," he says, adding that instead of an automated system, "we customize our software around position optimization."

An algorithm harvesting losses on schedule doesn't know whether that sale disrupts a position built carefully for a reason, or creates a tax consequence somewhere else in the plan. It only knows there's a loss to take.

Customization takes more work than automation. We think that's exactly the point.

Most advisory relationships start with a recommendation. Ours starts with a question: what is this family actually trying to accomplish?

That might sound obvious, but it changes the order everything happens in. A family preparing to sell a business needs something different than a family preparing the next generation to receive wealth. A tax strategy that fits one purpose can work against another. Even a genuinely good investment is only good in relation to what it's actually meant to support, which means the same portfolio can be the right answer for one family and the wrong one for another with a similar balance sheet.

Before any recommendation gets made at Revolution Group, that question gets answered first. Not once, at an initial meeting, but revisited as circumstances change, because the right answer today isn't guaranteed to be the right answer in five years.

A transactional relationship ends the moment a recommendation is made. A fiduciary relationship is supposed to continue past it, but the difference isn't always visible from the outside.

Under our REAL FIDUCIARY™ standard, every plan is built around a specific client's needs and goals, never treated as a one-time transaction. That means it keeps adjusting as circumstances change, instead of getting built once and left alone.

A plan that isn't revisited isn't really ongoing. It's a transaction wearing a different label.
