Let's be honest.

Most people don't spend their evenings wishing they could compare insurance quotes.

You'd probably rather be binge-watching your favorite show, spending time with family, playing with the dog, tackling a hobby, or simply relaxing after a long day.

That's where we come in.

As an independent insurance brokerage, we can shop multiple insurance companies on your behalf, helping you compare options without spending hours filling out forms, calling carriers, and trying to decipher insurance jargon.

Whether you're looking for auto, home, renters, business, life, health, dental, vision, or pet insurance, our goal is simple:

Save you time.
Help you understand your options.
Make insurance a little less frustrating.

You enjoy your evening.

We'll do the shopping.

The zoomies are free.

The emergency vet isn't.

If you've ever had a pet, you know how quickly a normal day can turn into an unexpected trip to the veterinarian.

A swallowed toy.
A torn ACL.
An illness that comes out of nowhere.
An accident at the dog park.

We'd all do whatever we could for our pets, but that doesn't make the bill any easier when it arrives.

Pet insurance can help offset the cost of unexpected accidents and illnesses, giving you more freedom to focus on what matters most: helping your furry family member get the care they need.

Want to see what coverage options look like for your pet?

One of the most common misconceptions we hear is:

"I'll have to wait until Open Enrollment."

Not for dental and vision coverage.

Unlike major medical insurance, many dental and vision plans can be purchased year-round. There is typically no medical underwriting, and most coverage starts immediately.

Whether you're self-employed, retired, between jobs, or simply looking to improve your benefits, dental and vision insurance can help make routine care more affordable while providing protection against larger expenses.

You spent hours creating it.

You tested it.
Packaged it.
Photographed it.
Posted it.
Delivered it.

You put your name on it because you're proud of it.

But putting your name on a product also means taking responsibility for what happens after it leaves your hands.

Whether you sell handmade candles, soaps, tumblers, jewelry, baby items, baked goods, crafts, or products imported under your own brand, product liability insurance may be one of the most overlooked coverages for small business owners.

Many makers assume their general liability policy automatically covers everything they sell. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes there are important limitations.

The good news? A quick review can help identify gaps before they become expensive surprises.

If you're creating products, selling online, attending vendor events, wholesaling to retailers, or importing products under your own brand, let's talk about whether your current coverage is keeping up with your business.

A contractor calls and says, 'I need a bond.' My first question is always... 'What kind?'

🚧 Contractor License Bond vs. Contract Bond 🚧

Many contractors use these terms interchangeably, but they are actually two completely different types of bonds.

A Contractor License Bond is often required by a state, city, or municipality as part of obtaining or renewing a contractor's license.

A Contract Bond (such as a Bid Bond, Performance Bond, or Payment Bond) is typically required for a specific project, especially public works, government contracts, or larger commercial jobs.

Here's the simple way to think about it:

📋 License Bond = Gives you permission to operate
🏗️ Contract Bond = Gives you permission to perform a specific project

We've seen contractors waste valuable time pursuing the wrong bond because the request wasn't clear. Understanding the difference can help avoid delays in licensing, bidding, and getting work started.

If you're a contractor and someone has requested a bond, make sure you know exactly which type is needed before moving forward.

Questions about bonds? We're happy to help point you in the right direction.

One of the most expensive assumptions a business owner can make is:

"My subcontractor has insurance, so I'm protected."

Unfortunately, that's not always true.

Many business owners are surprised to learn that their own insurance policy may exclude or severely limit coverage for work performed by 1099 contractors. Some policies specifically exclude uninsured subcontractors, while others contain provisions that can create serious coverage issues when claims occur.

That's why simply asking a subcontractor, "Do you have insurance?" isn't enough.

At a minimum, you should be collecting a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) from every subcontractor you hire. But even that isn't the end of the conversation.

Certificates can expire. Policies can be canceled for non-payment. Coverage limits can change. In some cases, we've even seen forged certificates provided to unsuspecting business owners.

For larger projects or higher-risk work, consider taking additional steps:

• Request a current Certificate of Insurance before work begins. • Verify coverage directly with the insurance agent or carrier when appropriate. • Ask to be added as an Additional Insured when the situation warrants it. • Keep copies of all certificates and endorsements with your project records. • Review your own policy to understand how subcontractors are treated under your coverage.

The reality is that lawsuits don't always stop with the person who caused the damage. If a subcontractor makes a mistake, injured parties often pursue everyone involved in the project.

And here's something many business owners overlook: even if an investigation ultimately determines that you were not responsible for the loss, defending yourself can still be expensive. Attorney fees, court costs, expert witnesses, and the time spent responding to a claim can add up quickly. One of the biggest benefits of a properly structured liability policy is not just the potential payment of a claim, but the legal defense and support it can provide while liability is being determined.

A few minutes spent verifying coverage today can save thousands—or even hundreds of thousands—of dollars tomorrow.

Insurance isn't just about buying a policy. It's about making sure every piece of the puzzle is actually in place before something goes wrong.

If you're a contractor or business owner who uses subcontractors, do you currently verify their insurance, or do you simply collect a certificate and move on?
