We were honored to support the new Veterans Food Pantry at the VA Medical Center. Our chapter presented $1,000 in food and cash donations to the pantry. Ricki Parker (second from left) is the director of volunteer services and shared that the pantry has served 120 veterans since it opened just over a month ago.

Our chapter was honored to present $6,000 to Omaha/Council Bluffs Bridges Out of Poverty for the Getting Ahead program. Thanks to the fabulous staff and volunteers at Bridges!

We had a great chapter meeting this week with guests from organizations that are improving the fabric of our community in Omaha. Thanks to Omaha Bridges, Omaha Street School, Millard South Student Council and Millard Business Community Foundation. Our chapter has invested nearly $50,000 this year so far in community programs. Thanks to our passionate volunteers! Next Chapter Meeting Nov. 17 at 6 pm at Villagio Pizzeria.

Join us for a Lancers hockey game on February 8th! Members of Chapters 16 & 6011 get in free and guests are only $10!

Join Chapter 6011 and Chapter 16 as we sponsor First Responder Night at the Lancer Hockey game on Saturday, Feb. 8!


When: Saturday, Feb. 8, puck drop is at 6:05 p.m.

Where: Liberty First Credit Union Arena - 7300 Q Street, Ralston NE 68127.

Cost: Members of Chapter 6011 and Chapter 16 are free. Non-members/guests are $10.

We are looking for a few volunteers to help hand out flags before the game. If you would like to volunteer, please let Doug know when RSVPing.

First Responders are free with a guest, courtesy of the Omaha Lancers, you just need to show I.D. at the box office.

$2 hot dogs and $2 popcorn special for all fans.

Did you know MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a day of service?

Today, we came together to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through action and service. Members of Chapter 16 joined forces with our incredible community to make a meaningful impact.

70 volunteers put together 600 hygeine kits and 600 sack lunches with items purchased by Chapter 16. The kits and lunches will be distributed to Open Door Mission, Siena Francis House and Stephen Center.

A special thank you goes out to our chapter Vice President, Sylvia Newsome, for all her hard work organizing this event!

The recent tornadoes that ravaged Nebraska and Iowa have left a path of devastation, impacting many of our members and communities.

WoodmenLife is dedicated to providing assistance during this challenging time.
We have been heartened by the outpouring of support from our members and associates. Your willingness to help embodies the spirit of WoodmenLife and our community.

We are currently coordinating with the United Way of the Midlands to support their relief efforts. For more information, please call 211 or visit the website at UnitedWayMidlands.org. They can also help connect individuals with essential resources through the 211 number.
