‼️ The new law goes into effect today, and this is GREAT news for mortgage applicants!

📣 After many years of advocacy, the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act is set to become law today, March 5. A major win for mortgage borrowers.

☎️ Currently, when someone applies for a mortgage, the credit bureaus sell that inquiry to lead companies, triggering a flood of unsolicited calls from lenders the borrower never contacted.

✍🏼This new law will require consumer consent before credit bureaus can sell that information, meaning far fewer spam calls and a much more private homebuying experience.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

🏦 As always we expect some hiccups along the way but this is a huge step in the right direction!
