Dear Residents,
As temperatures drop into extreme lows this week and next, we want to ensure everyone stays safe, warm, and informed. Bitter cold can place significant strain on heating systems and increase the risk of frozen pipes, so your attention to the following items is greatly appreciated.
1. Heating Systems During Extreme Cold During periods of severe cold, heating systems may run continuously and still struggle to reach the thermostat’s set temperature. This is normal in subzero conditions. Please keep your thermostat set to a consistent temperature and avoid lowering it at night or when leaving the home, as this can make it harder for the system to recover.
2. Preventing Frozen Pipes To help protect your home and the building from costly damage, please take the following precautions:
Keep your thermostat set to at least 68 degrees.
-Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate around plumbing.
-Let faucets drip slightly—especially on exterior walls—to keep water moving.
-Ensure all windows are fully closed and locked to prevent drafts.
-If you have a garage, keep the garage door closed as much as possible.
3. If You Suspect a Frozen Pipe If you notice reduced water flow, no water, or signs of frost on exposed pipes, please notify our office immediately through AppFolio or by phone. Quick reporting helps prevent major damage.
4. General Reminders
-Do not use ovens or stoves as a heat source.
-Keep space heaters at least three feet away from anything flammable and never leave them unattended.
-Report any maintenance concerns promptly so we can address them before they worsen.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping protect your home and the property during this extreme weather. Our team is monitoring conditions closely and will respond to urgent issues as quickly as possible.
Thank you for being a valued resident and for helping us keep the community safe and comfortable.
