By virtue of banking with us, our members create shared prosperity for themselves and t

heir communities. WSECU is federally insured by the NCUA. Please note this page is monitored for posts and comments during our working hours Mon.-Fri. 7am to 7pm and Sat. 9am to 2pm. Comments left outside of those hours will be responded to as needed the next business day. Thanks for joining the conversation!

Hey state employees! Join us live on Zoom over the first two Wednesdays and Thursdays of this month: June 3, June 4, June 10 or June 11. We're proud to sponsor the 2026 DEI Empowerment Conference focusing on "Belonging and Home: Exploring Equity Through Location and Migration."
We’re grateful to bring together Washington state employees for these important conversations around equity, inclusion, identity and community. 💙 Because a home is more than four walls, and belonging is about feeling welcomed, valued, and seen for who you are.

It’s June: Pride is the vibe and the flags are flying! Look around and you’ll see rainbow colors everywhere. 🌈
But did you know behind every stripe, color and design is a deeper story?
What started with Gilbert Baker’s Pride flag in 1978 has continued to grow and evolve alongside the LGBTQIA+ community, becoming a symbol that reflects more voices, experiences and identities.
Along the way came:
✨ 1999: Monica Helms’ Trans Pride flag, adding light blue, pink and white to represent trans people, transition and inclusion.
✨ 2017: The “More Color, More Pride” flag added black and brown stripes to center LGBTQIA+ people of color and expand representation within the Pride movement.
✨ 2018: Today’s Progress Pride flag, designed by Daniel Quasar. The chevron points forward, symbolizing movement and the progress still ahead, because Pride can only continue to grow when everyone is included.
At WSECU, we’re proud to support spaces and communities where people can show up as themselves, during Pride Month and beyond. ❤️
Look for local events like fairs, parades, concerts, marches and more to join in the celebration of inclusion and diversity this month and, honestly, every month! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Today is World Bee Day and there’s a buzz coming out of GRuB as they celebrate 25 years of growing healthy food, people and community.

We’ve proudly partnered with GRuB for 10+ years, working and learning alongside them through volunteer hours, funding, team builders, etc. It's that rewarding kind of partnership where you don’t just talk about community, you get your boots dirty in it.

World Bee Day is a good reminder: Like GRuB, bees are some of the hardest workers out there when it comes to keeping our food systems going. Without bees and pollination, growing the kind of fresh, local food GRuB is known for just wouldn’t be possible. And GRuB doesn’t just grow food, they cultivate skills, opportunity and real impact across our region.

We’ll just say it: they’re the bees knees. Happy 25 years, GRuB!
Consider this a big hive five from all of us at WSECU! 🌱🐝

Last week we celebrated public employees and they gave us some love as well. Thanks to all of them for the shoutouts AND for the long hours they spend every day putting out fires, answering emergency calls, keeping our streets clean, our water safe, teaching the next generation, the list goes on!

We were honored to support this year's Public Service Recognition Week celebration at the Capitol. It was great to connect with so many of you as you stopped by our table, sharing stories that remind us of our shared love for our communities.

To every public employee, thank you.
This week and every week, we see you and we’re grateful.

For all the mother figures in our lives who have helped us along the way, we heard your advice and we’re carrying it into every season:
"Save a little. Spend wisely. And don’t forget to treat yourself sometimes." 💗

Thanks for all the hot chocolate, long talks and good "cents." 😘 Happy Mother’s Day!
