Two homes can have the same hail damage — and very different claim results.

One reason is **how the roof is covered**.

Some policies may pay based on **Replacement Cost**, while others may pay based on **Actual Cash Value**, which can factor in depreciation based on age and condition.

That difference can affect how much comes out of your own pocket after a storm.

Before the next round of Kansas weather rolls through, it’s worth taking a look at how your roof is covered and what deductible applies.

Most of us know we have “full coverage” — but do you actually know what Comprehensive and Collision cover?

Comprehensive generally helps with things like:
• Hail
• Deer strikes
• Falling tree limbs
• Theft

Collision generally helps when your vehicle is damaged by hitting another vehicle or object.

And here’s the part people often overlook: your deductible may be different for each.

Take a minute to check your auto policy before you need it. Knowing what coverage applies — and what you’d pay out of pocket — can prevent an unpleasant surprise later.

If you’re not sure what you have, I’m happy to help you review it.

Do you know what your wind & hail deductible is?

A lot of homeowners don’t realize it may be different from their regular deductible — and sometimes it’s based on a percentage of the home’s insured value.

That can mean a much bigger out-of-pocket cost after a storm than expected.

Worth checking **before** the next round of Kansas weather rolls through.

If you’re not sure where to find it, I’m happy to help you take a look.

Medicare + GLP-1 medications: there's a new program worth knowing about.

On July 1, Medicare launched a temporary program called the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge.

The program may provide certain eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries access to qualifying GLP-1 medications for weight management with a $50 monthly copay.

The important word is eligible.

This does not mean everyone on Medicare can receive a GLP-1 medication for $50. Specific medical requirements apply, and a healthcare provider must complete the prior authorization process.

If you or someone you know is interested in GLP-1 treatment, don't assume Medicare will—or won't—provide coverage based on information you may have heard previously.

I've put together a plain-English overview of how the new program works, who may qualify, and some of the important limitations to understand.

Staying informed is sometimes the most important first step.

A Medicare Part D change is coming for 2027 — but don't panic over the headlines.**

CMS has announced that the temporary **Medicare Part D Premium Stabilization Demonstration** will end after 2026. The program was put in place to help limit premium volatility for participating **stand-alone Medicare prescription drug plans** while major changes to Part D were being implemented.

What could that mean for 2027?

Without the additional stabilization program, some stand-alone Part D plans could experience larger premium changes than we've seen recently. But that does **not** mean every Part D premium will suddenly increase dramatically.

In fact, we don't yet know the actual 2027 premiums for individual plans. CMS expects final plan information to be available in September.

**The practical takeaway:** When your 2027 Medicare drug plan information arrives this fall, don't just look at the premium.

Review:

* Your medications
* The plan's formulary
* Drug tiers and copays
* Preferred pharmacies
* Deductible
* Monthly premium
* Estimated total annual cost

Sometimes the plan with the lowest premium isn't the plan with the lowest overall cost.

No need for alarm. Just another good reason to **review rather than automatically renew.**
