Recently the Biden administration opened up the Marketplace for a new Special Enrollment Period (SEP) available February 15th - August 15th, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You won't need to provide proof of a qualifying life event if you buy or change a current BCBSOK health plan during this SEP.
Also, the new American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”) was signed into law on March 11, 2021.
There are several items in the new law that may help you. Additional tax credits and deductions are available now. If you are currently receiving a tax credit to help with your insurance premium, you most likely will qualify for an additional savings. You could also qualify for additional cost sharing on your deductibles and co-pays.
Here are some important things to know about buying your 2021 BCBSOK health plan during the new SEP:
You won't need to provide proof of a qualifying life event when you buy or change your current BCBSOK health plan during this SEP.
Your BCBSOK plan's effective date will automatically be the first of the month following the month you select or change your plan. WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO HELP YOU FIND COVERAGE.
