Sometimes the best part of being a deputy here in Okeechobee County is making connections with our community, especially the children.

Deputies Casian & Ramos stopped by to show some local children their cars and "hang" with them after a call for service in their neighborhood.

We are very proud of our OCSO family and the fellowship and support of our community.

After all, "It takes a village."

We are currently working a traffic crash in the area of SW 48th Ave and Hwy 70 West.

During this time the roadway will be closed. Please seek alternative routes of travel.

The investigation has been completed 


We are currently working a criminal investigation that involved a weapon two blocks away from Yearling Middle School.

There is NO IMMEDIATE threat to the public however the incident did call for the temporary lockdown of Yearling Middle School as a precautionary measure only.

No one is any danger at this time and the incident is now being investigated by our Criminal Investigation Division.
