Both the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and the Federal Housing Authority (FSA) announced increases to conforming loan limits in 2022. With conforming loans, homebuyers can purchase homes with lower down payments and competitive rates.

Every home should have at least one fire extinguisher rated for all fire types. You should also check to ensure the fire extinguisher is charged in case of emergency. Any fire extinguisher older than 12 years should be replaced. And while you are checking your fire extinguisher, be sure to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors.

As cooler temperatures begin to settle, now is a good time to begin winterizing your home. Be sure to remove garden hoses from outdoor faucets and shut off the water supply to your irrigation lines. You want to do this before freezing temperatures arrive to prevent your water lines from freezing and cracking. Store your garden hoses in a shed or garage during the winter months.
