Do you have life insurance?
As an insurance agent, I totally think about if Lightening has car or life insurance on himself when watching the movie with my two year old!
Life insurance is just as important as car insurance. Did you know you can even get life insurance for your kids? If they grow up and get some unforeseen disease or condition, they don’t have to worry about finding life insurance because you already got them one! Or, they could even cash it out when they graduate and use that money for college.

Did you know your home insurance doesn’t cover flood?
Running water above ground coming into your house (through a window or a door) is not covered on your homeowners. Living in a high flood zone? You need to get flood insurance!
Most companies, even flood carriers, will not cover hydrostatic water (water seepage). What can you do for that? Take precaution measures! Put in a drain system around your house, even a sump pump! Ask if your current carrier covers this.

Did you know your normal car insurance policy will not cover you if you’re in an accident while driving for Uber or Lyft?
Some people know that there is coverage through Uber or Lyft when a passenger is in your car. But once you accept to pick up that person and you’re driving to pick them up, your car insurance coverage stops. Therefore, you have a gap of coverage. If you get in an accident while driving to pick someone up, you have no coverage!
Some personal line policies will offer an endorsement on your car insurance to cover this gap in time.

Did you know Earthquake insurance is not automatically included in your homeowners policy? Sometimes, you can endorse the coverage onto your current homeowners policy, but some companies don’t offer earthquake. I have companies that can write just earthquake for you!
