Ocean Financial - The Catholic Credit Union Ocean Financial is a not-for-profit organization built on the credit union philosophy of people helping people.

We provide financial products and services to the catholic community. Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union (previously named Oceanside Christopher Federal Credit Union) was chartered in 1969 by a small group of members at the Father Joseph O’Connell Knights of Columbus (Council #3481) in Oceanside N.Y. Made up of an all-volunteer group, they wanted to provide financial services to the families of

their Brother Knights at the council. In January 2017, the credit union is undergoing a name change in order to further reach out to Catholic Long Islanders. Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that no one person profits from personally. Profits are returned to our member-owners in the form of higher dividends on savings, lower rates on loans and less fees than you would find at a bank. Today, our field of membership includes the Knights of Columbus, The Diocese of Rockville Centre and any Catholic interested in the credit union.

On behalf of Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union, we are very pleased to present a $7,500 grant to the Long Island Children’s Museum, made possible through the FHLB of New York’s grant program. The Long Island Children’s Museum provides such an important resource to our community, giving children the opportunity to learn, explore, and discover through hands-on experiences. Their work sparks curiosity and creativity, creating meaningful experiences for children and families throughout Long Island. Ocean Financial recently had the priviledge to present a check for $7,500 to The Bridge to Life, a College Point, NY-based non-profit that supports moms in need, providing material support for new moms and their children. The Bridge to Life serves more than 5,000 women and children annually, across the five boroughs, Long Island and New Jersey, and makes available everything from food to diapers to clothes and toys, plus clothing and personal items for mothers, all at no cost.
