The school year is brewing…

We were happy to fuel the teachers and staff at Ocean Springs School District Convocation Friday morning. Someone has to keep the coffee flowing before the alarm clocks start winning again.

Here’s to caffeinating the educators who’ll be answering hundreds of questions a day, stressing about lesson plans, and somehow remembering every student’s name by next week. You are all heroes!

Scott Lemon carries on a family tradition that began with his grandfather, later growing alongside his father and partner to build what is now Lemon Mohler Insurance Agency. After a 14-year career outside the industry, Scott joined the agency in 2000 and became Principal in 2004.

He has been deeply involved in industry leadership, including serving as Chairman of the Independent Insurance Association of Mississippi and holding key roles with the Mississippi Windstorm Underwriting Association.

Outside the office, Scott enjoys time with his wife of 34 years, Barbara, their three daughters, and especially his grandchildren—while also staying active in community organizations along the Gulf Coast.

HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI COAST & SURROUNDING AREAS

Weather forecasts are calling for even more periods of heavy rainfall across the Mississippi Gulf Coast and neighboring communities today and early tomorrow. While rain is a welcome sight at times, intense downpours can quickly lead to flash flooding, hazardous road conditions, and property damage.

As we prepare for this weather event, here are a few important reminders:

✅ Monitor local weather forecasts and emergency alerts
✅ Clear gutters, drains, and storm runoff areas around your property
✅ Move vehicles from flood-prone or low-lying areas if necessary
✅ Keep emergency supplies and important documents readily accessible
✅ Review your current insurance coverages and stay ready for any incoming perils
✅ Never drive through flooded roadways — even shallow water can be dangerous

Remember: Flash floods can develop quickly and with little warning. If you encounter flooded roads, turn around and find an alternate route.
