What is “jousting” in the medical record?

The term “jousting” refers to making critical or disparaging remarks about another physician in the medical record. It can happen when physicians disagree about a patient’s care, particularly during consultations, provider transitions or second opinions.

While disagreements may be legitimate, documenting them in a judgmental or disparaging way can undermine patient trust and potentially contribute to malpractice litigation.

What a week!

From collaborating in the office to spending the day together at Lake Chalet, this year's Day in the Bay was full of learning, laughter, teamwork, and meaningful connections.

We enjoyed an inspiring presentation from our guest speaker, Megan McCaleb,, celebrated our accomplishments, and spent quality time connecting with colleagues from across the organization.
