According to the USDA, Illinois farmers produced approximately 533 MILLION pounds of pumpkins in 2025. That's more than the next four highest-producing states combined!

Here's another fun fact: Many of the pumpkins grown in Illinois aren't destined to become jack-o'-lanterns. They're grown for processing into things like pumpkin purée and other pumpkin products!

MYTH BUSTING MONDAY!

MYTH: “If I hit a deer, it’s a collision claim.”

It sounds like it should be, but hitting a deer or another animal is typically covered under comprehensive coverage, not collision.

Here’s where it gets interesting:

Hit the deer? Typically comprehensive.

Swerve to miss the deer and hit a tree, guardrail, or another object? That would typically fall under collision coverage instead.

Same deer, very different claim!

With deer becoming especially active this time of year, it’s a good reminder to know what coverage you have before you need it.

- Keep towels, oven mitts, and other flammable items away from the stovetop.
- Turn off burners if you need to leave the kitchen.

A pretty good day to get out of the office 🍂🎃

We spent the day making our way through Belgrade and up through Kingfield, Stratton, and the Sugarloaf area, stopping into local businesses and dropping off some Halloween treats along the way! 🍬

Thanks to everyone who let us stop in and say hi. We had a great day getting out of the office, meeting some of the businesses that make up our community, and enjoying peak Maine fall while we were at it. 🍁
