ANB Supports Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council
Shop with a Cop Event
The Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council (BSAC) teamed up with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and Fire Rescue to bring joy to 80 of the most deserving children from 4 local schools at their annual "Shop With a Cop" event. Selected by School Resource Officers, these children decorated ornaments and enjoyed a $200 shopping spree on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Target in Fort Lauderdale, paid for by BSAC using their American National Bank debit card. BSAC’s Children of the Fallen also received $200 gift cards.
ANB team members Ginger Martin, Sharon King, and David Stahler along with David’s wife Renee Stahler, joined BSAC Chairman of the Board Andy Mitchell and Chief of Staff Valerie Silverman to provide support at the event.
BSAC is a 501(C)(3) non-profit launched in 1985 by business and community leaders dedicated to supporting law enforcement, firefighters, and other first responders in Broward County. Their primary mission is providing financial assistance to the families of Broward County first responders that are killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. Over the years, the focus evolved to invest more deeply in those on whom we depend for so much. Working closely with the Broward County Sheriff and Chiefs, BSAC provides funding for state-of-the-art technology and equipment, specialized training, and wellness programs for these dedicated public servants. The Advisory Council is also committed to community and support programs that focus on improving the lives of first responders and their families.
BSAC’s Community Outreach program, amongst 5 others, is devoted to fortifying robust connections within the diverse communities of Broward County. This initiative focuses on establishing meaningful relationships by funding various programs that enhance communication, trust, and contribute to overall public safety. Shop With a Cop is one of many programs geared toward strengthening cooperative relationships between first responders and the many diverse communities of Broward County.
