Most people don’t realize how quickly a liability situation can get expensive. A fender bender with injuries, a guest slipping at your home, or a mistake behind the wheel can turn into costs that go way beyond what you expect.

That’s where an umbrella policy can help. It adds an extra layer of liability protection on top of your home and auto policies, designed to kick in when those limits are used up.

You might want to look at an umbrella policy if you:

Is moving in your future? Whether it’s to a new city or across town, a solid to-do list makes the whole thing feel less stressful and a lot less chaotic. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

📦 Create a home inventory (quick video walk-through counts)
📦 Label and count boxes (and keep essentials in one “open first” box)
📦 Get estimates for movers (if needed)
📦 Contact utility companies and schedule shutoff/start dates
📦 Update your address with banks, subscriptions, and your employer
📦 Update vehicle insurance and registration
📦 Learn the new city/neighborhood before moving day

A few quick reminders to protect yourself:

• Be suspicious of urgent messages about refunds, payments, or “verification”
• Don’t click links or open attachments from unknown senders
• Never share personal info by text or DM
