Yesterday SIP hit the streets for the 5th Annual 2.2 for 22q Run/Walk/Ride! We take part in this event to help raise awareness and funds for 22q in honor of our own Darby Rose Wildt. 22q is the second most common genetic disorder after Down Syndrome, yet it is less known and harder to diagnose. 22q has a rate of occurrence in 1 in 2,000 births and is found in 1 of 68 children born with a heart defect. Darby Rose was diagnosed at birth with 22q and has faced many challenges due to her diagnosis. She has defied the odds and is an absolute gift to all who are lucky enough to know her. While her journey with 22q is lifelong, with the support of an incredible family, community and The 22q Family Foundation her future is so promising.

We are proud to announce that with the help of our generous supporters, we were able to surpass our $5,000 donation goal and contribute to the $39,000 raised in total to The 22q Family Foundation! Thank you to everyone who made a contribution. Your generosity greatly helps the individuals and families affected by 22q find the resources they need to navigate an often overwhelming journey.

This Memorial Day we remember and honor those who gave their life while serving in the United States Armed Forces. We are forever grateful for their bravery and sacrifice to provide freedom for our country.

On June 3rd, Strategic Insurance Partners will be walking in honor of our own Darby Rose Wildt and everyone else with 22q.

Darby Rose was diagnosed at birth with 22q and has faced many challenges due to her diagnosis, including open heart surgery, multiple GI surgeries, palate surgeries and esophageal surgeries. She has defied the odds and is an absolute gift to all who are lucky enough to know her. While her journey with 22q is lifelong, with the support of an incredible family, community and her future is so promising.

The 22q Family foundation is dedicated to raising awareness for 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome while connecting, supporting and offering accurate information to families affected by the diagnosis.

22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome is a chromosomal abnormality effecting about 1 in every 1,000 births, that can cause a wide range of health and developmental issues, including heart defects, breathing issues, GI issues, immune and endocrine systems, differences in the palate, slow growth, developmental delays or learning disabilities in some individuals. Children diagnosed with 22q may have many or only a few of the over 200 symptoms, with varying severity.
