Our 2026 Calendar, titled “Community History Lives Here,” celebrates 250 years of the unique history and culture found right here in our own communities. June's feature is the Cheney Hall located in the heart of Manchester's Historic District. Having served as an event space for a wide variety of theatrical events, showcases, and even a makeshift hospital during the 1918 flu epidemic, Cheney Hall now serves as the home of the Little Theatre of Manchester, Inc.

Thank you to our local historians, and thank you to our customers for being an important part of Dime’s history!

As we celebrate 10 years in Colchester this Friday, we’re excited to highlight members of the Colchester team this week. Today we are shining a spotlight on Chuck Maynard, Vice President, Colchester Branch Manager, who has been with our team since the branch opening in 2016.

Chuck has lived in Colchester for 29 years, and his favorite part of working at Dime is being a trusted resource for customers and helping people navigate their financial needs with a personal, community‑focused approach. He says working at Dime feels like the perfect match because of our shared commitment to true community banking.

He loves local events like Bark for the Park and the CBA Tag Sale on the Green, and he’s deeply involved in town organizations including the CBA: Colchester Business Association - Colchester, Connecticut, Comstock Regional Lions Club, Colchester Hayward Volunteer Fire Company, and Colchester Fire & EMS.

Chuck describes Colchester as “a blend of small‑town charm and a strong sense of community… where tradition meets tomorrow.” And he describes Dime Bank as a place that builds real relationships and stays involved in the community every day.

Last week, Dime Bank was honored to attend The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut's 75th Annual Citizen of the Year Celebration honoring our long-time friend Katherine Verano, Chief Executive Officer of Safe Futures. At the Event, Katherine was recognized for her outstanding service to our community, highlighted by her leadership of Safe Futures and its meaningful mission to support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, trafficking, elder abuse and child abuse in southeastern Connecticut.

Last week, our branch in Manchester, served as the host for a collaborative Business After Hours featuring the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce - GMCC, the CT River Valley Chamber and the Tolland County Chamber of Commerce - TCCC. Over 65 guests from our Manchester, Vernon, and Glastonbury communities were treated to delicious area favorites provided by local eateries. Included among these were; The Hidden Kitchen at Hilliard Mills, Brown Butter Creations, Mulberry Street, Highland Park Market, Kona Ice of Manchester, Manchester Wine and Liquors LLC, PURDY GOOD Cheesecake, and The Tipsy Travelers . Earlier today, Dime Bank was out in Vernon, treating customers at Radial Coffee Co at 1135 Hartford Turnpike, to coffee and breakfast treats as part of our community-based, “On Our Dime” tour. Jennifer Moreau, VP, Branch Manager – Vernon and Ann-Marie Katzer, Senior VP, Consumer Banking Officer, were on hand to greet customers who wanted to learn more about the advantages of community banking and Dime’s presence as Vernon’s Home for Community Banking. As part of a Small Business Week presentation series, Austin LaVoie, Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager Manchester, joined Shelly Koehler, Connecticut Small Business Development Center Business Advisor, for two informational workshops held at WORK SPACE in Manchester last week. On Wednesday, Austin and Shelly’s interactive presentation How to Start a Business & an Intro to Business Banking taught entrepreneurs the step-by-step process of starting and owning a business. Later in the week, Austin and Shelly teamed up once again for Fraud Prevention for Businesses which covered key strategies for business owners to protect themselves against fraud. The workshops were presented by Dime Bank & CTSBDC in partnership with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce - GMCC and the Manchester Cultural District.
