Last week, the Dime Bank Foundation presented a check in the amount of $2,500 to Birth Support, Education & Beyond for their Perinatal Support Services Program which aims to improve maternal, infant, and family well-being by reducing toxic stress, strengthening parenting confidence, expanding access to care, and interrupting cycles of trauma.

BSEB provides ongoing no-cost perinatal support services to pregnant persons, new parents, infants, and families facing poverty, trauma, housing instability, and limited supports. To learn more, visit their website https://www.bseb-ct.org/

Last night, Dime’s own Ashley Lewis, Assistant Vice President, Deposit Banking Administration Officer, was honored as a 2026 ‘New Leader in Banking’ by the Connecticut Bankers Association.

The New Leaders in Banking distinction is given to those who have a positive impact on their profession, community and organization by demonstrating leadership, achieving their business goals, and going above and beyond for their local communities.

Ashley has been with Dime for over twenty years, serving in a variety of areas including Retail, Retail Operations, Fraud/Security and most recently as our Digital Banking Payments Manager. A well-respected leader by her peers and team, Ashley is known for her readiness to take on any situation. She expects exceptional customer service from her team and consistently delivers the same. She is a graduate of the Connecticut School of Finance & Management as well as the CBA ASPIRE Leadership Academy.

Highly regarded for her commitment to her community, Ashley consistently volunteers for many charitable organizations - including Dime Bank’s Blue Crew initiatives, the Special Olympics, and serves as a member of the Thompson Recreation Committee and as a board member of the Norwich Bully Busters.

Last week, the Dime Bank Foundation presented a check in the amount of $3,000 to South County Habitat for Humanity in support of their housing duplex project in Westerly, RI. This project created energy-efficient, affordable homeownership units for two families who will purchase the homes through Habitat’s affordable homeownership program.

South County Habitat for Humanity rebuilds or rehabilitates homeownership units across southern Rhode Island, helping families achieve safe, stable, and affordable housing. To learn more, visit their website at https://www.southcountyhabitat.org/

Our 2026 Calendar, titled “Community History Lives Here,” celebrates 250 years of the unique history and culture found right here in our own communities.

Our October image, courtesy of the east Lyme Historical Society, features the Thoman Lee House. Built around 1660 by Thomas Lee II for himself and his family, stewardship of the property over the next few centuries shifted, with the East Lyme Historical Society eventually taking possession of the property. Pictured is Judgement Hall, an interior room of the house, which now serves as a museum.

Earlier today, Dime Bank proudly attended The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut’s 15th annual Military Appreciation Breakfast, where veterans and active-duty personnel who serve our community with dedication and selflessness were honored. This is an impactful event for our team given the many military family connections, including two of team that have served.

During the event awards were given to:
- Cross Sound Ferry, Sprigs & Twigs, Inc (Patriotic Business Awards)
- Garde Arts Center (Patriotic Nonprofit Award)
- RPC Emily Marie Blonski, United States Navy (Service Person of the Year)

Our wonderful colleague Javaughn Anderson, Assistant Branch Manager in Manchester, was honored this past Friday evening as one of this year’s 100 Men of Color for his commitment to our community. The 100 Men of Color Black Tie Gala & Awards recognizes the contributions of these recipients in business, education, entrepreneurship, government, entertainment, service and the impact they have made on the lives of people throughout the State of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts communities. A portion of the proceeds from the annual event presented by June Archer & Eleven28 Entertainment supports scholarships for young men who graduate from high school and plan on attending college, male leadership and mentorship programs. There to join in celebrating Javaughn’s accomplishments were Nick Statoulas, President & CEO of Dime Bank, Ann-Marie Katzer, Senior Vice President Chief Consumer & Business Banking Officer for Dime Bank, and Austin LaVoie, Branch Manager Manchester, Dime Bank.
