🚗🚔What happens if someone hits you and doesn’t have insurance?

Uninsured Motorist (UM) coverage helps protect you if you’re injured in an accident caused by a driver who has no auto insurance.

Underinsured Motorist (UIM) coverage helps if the other driver has insurance, but their liability limits aren’t high enough to cover your injuries.

Example:
You’re seriously injured in an accident and your medical bills and other damages total $150,000.

* The other driver has no insurance → your UM coverage may respond.
* The other driver has only $50,000 of liability coverage → their insurance may pay $50,000, and your UIM coverage could potentially help with the remaining covered damages, subject to your policy limits and terms.

📌Immediate Coverage: Employees are covered from their very first day on the job.
📌Strict Penalties: Employers who skip coverage on purpose can face fines of up to $500 per day, with a $10,000 minimum fine.

Exemptions
📌Sole Proprietors: Owners without employees do not need a policy for themselves.
📌Business Owners: Partners, LLC members, and corporate officers can often choose to opt out of coverage, unless they work in high-risk fields like construction.
