Gen Z’ers (born 1997 to 2012) have popularized the concept “Revenge Savings.” It’s the idea of stockpiling money to prepare for economic uncertainty, including a cooling job market. It’s about cutting monthly spending by eating out less, avoiding high-priced retail outlets, and showing more self-control when it comes to impulse spending. Baby Boomers (born 1946 to 1964) refer to it as “tightening your belt.” And the Silent Generation (born 1928-1945), who lived through the Great Depression, has always been known for saving money.
