Comp Dairy Farm in Dorset Ohio, a 5th generation family farm recently experienced a devastating fire destroying two of their only milking parlors where 1,100+ cattle were milked 3x/day.

Raffle tickets are $25 each with all proceeds supporting each county’s impact funds to support programming and events that will expand and grow agriculture’s footprint in the county and encourage youth development in agriculture.

Winners will be drawn every Friday in September using the Ohio Pick 3 evening draw, with a special Labor Day “Farmers” draw using the Ohio Pick 3 Evening Draw. Every number has at least one chance to win (numbers can be drawn more than once).

Farm Bureau making things happen yet again to address the issues impacting our farmers.

“The agreement formalizes farmers’ access to diagnostic and repair codes, as well as manuals (operator, parts, service) and product guides. It also ensures farmers will be able to purchase diagnostic tools directly from John Deere and receive assistance from the manufacturer when ordering parts and products.”

The American Farm Bureau Federation and John Deere signed a memorandum of understanding today that ensures farmers’ and ranchers’ right to repair their own farm equipment. The last several days have been busy for our emergency personnel due to people burning brush, leaves and debris. There is a burn ban (law) in effect in the state of Ohio.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has a burn ban in place in rural areas from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in March, April, May, October and November.

January and February are two months when farmers and rural residents may need to dispose of tree trimmings, brush, weeds or other agricultural waste.

I attended the Deans Charity Steer Show today at the Ohio State Fair where Geauga County Farm Bureau was well represented by Rachel O’Reilly and her steer Ollie being shown by Team Bill Patterson and Ty Higgins.
They won the showmanship award!

All proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
