We’re proud to have rolled up our sleeves and joined Habitat For Humanity of South Central MN’s She Nailed It for the first time! 🔨
Our team had a great (and hot 🥵) day learning and helping build the foundation walls for a future home in Nicollet. It was a reminder that every block, every piece of rebar, and every helping hand plays an important part in building something bigger than ourselves. 🏡
Thank you to Habitat for Humanity of South Central MN for giving us the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful project. We’re grateful for the chance to support our community and can’t wait to see how the home continues to take shape!
She Nailed It UPDATE!
Building Up, One Team at a Time!
Another round of She Nailed It is in the books, and if you've been following along, you know just how much work goes into a foundation before you ever see the walls of a home begin to take shape. The work may look similar from one build day to the next—cutting and placing FoxBlocks, bending and securing rebar, leveling, reinforcing, and building row after row.. but every single piece matters. Each team is quite literally building on the work of the women who came before them. 💙🏡
Day 9: Pioneer Bank
Our Pioneer Bank ladies had an important job at our Eagle Lake home: get this foundation ready for concrete! They put the finishing touches on the FoxBlocks and rebar, made sure everything was secure and ready to go, and then came the construction-site waiting game... waiting for those concrete trucks to arrive. 😅 Once they did, it was go time! The team helped see the concrete pour through and left the foundation set and ready to cure.
With that, our She Nailed It crews had officially completed their portion of this phase in Eagle Lake! After multiple teams building layer upon layer, Pioneer Bank helped bring it across the finish line and allowed our remaining teams to head back to where She Nailed It began this year—Nicollet!
Pioneer Bank has been showing up for She Nailed It for five years, and we are so thankful for their continued commitment to Habitat and our community. 💙
🥪 Huge thanks to McCallister's Deli for keeping these hardworking ladies fueled! So many wonderful sandwich variations to choose from. It was delish.
Day 10: Brown & Brown Insurance - Mankato
Back to Nicollet we went—and WOW, things looked a little different from when our She Nailed It teams left! 👏
With the ground-level work filled and leveled, it was time to start building upward. Brown & Brown Insurance joined us for their first She Nailed It experience and jumped right into the hard work of building the foundation walls. Cutting and placing FoxBlocks. Measuring. Bending and cutting rebar. Locking everything into place. Then doing it all over again for the next row. By the end of the day, these ladies had secured two more rows, creating the strong, reinforced foundation that every team after them will continue to build upon.
It may be repetitive work, but there is nothing small about it. Every block has a purpose, every piece of rebar adds strength, and every row gets this future homeowner closer to seeing their home rise out of the ground.
For their first year, Brown & Brown Insurance - Mankato certainly showed up ready to build! Thank you for choosing to spend the day with us. 💙
🥪 And thank you to Maverick's Sports Grill for providing lunch for the crew! This was our first year working with Maverick's and to say we were impressed is an understatement!
Day 11: MEI-Total Elevator Solutions Team 2
Same FoxBlocks. Same rebar. Different group of incredible women ready to keep it moving! 💪 MEI Team 2 picked up exactly where Brown & Brown left off, continuing to build the foundation walls higher one row at a time.
And that's what makes these days so meaningful. One team may not see a foundation through from beginning to end, but their work makes the next team's work possible. By the time a family is standing inside the finished walls of their home, dozens of hands will have played a part in getting them there.
MEI continues to be an incredible supporter of She Nailed It, returning for their sixth year and sending three teams to build with us this year alone. We can't thank these ladies—and MEI-Total Elevator Solutions enough for continuing to show up year after year. 🔨
🥪 Another big thank you to the Wooden Spoon for once again feeding our volunteers a delicious lunch!
Three more teams. Two Habitat homes. One shared mission. 🏡
The foundation work isn't always glamorous. It's repetitive, physical, and incredibly precise—but that's also what makes it such a perfect representation of Habitat.
Every block matters. Every row matters. Every volunteer matters.
And little by little, team by team, we're not just watching foundations get taller.
We're watching homes take shape. 💙🔨
