Well, it seems like nobody has been able to avoid the incredible storm of commercials this year about Medicare open enrollment . I’m assuming everyone knows that December 7 is the deadline for MOST people to change plans for next year.
HOWEVER , if you were on a Harvard Pilgrim plan this year called “STRIDE” which is their Medicare advantage program, you actually have until December 31 because of the special election period for what we call a “plan exit”. So, the GOOD NEWS is that if you haven’t done anything by December 7 and you are in Harvard’s STRIDE plan, you STILL have a chance to make a change! Of course, that also means the bad news is they’ll probably still be advertising all the way until the end of the year to try and encourage you to move to other plans ad nauseum. If you have questions, or you just want to get this decision over with, I advise you to call me and you can shut off the TV and toss the junk mail!

Annual Election Period (AEP) will be starting October 15th. The old saying "the more things change, the more they remain the same" has taken on new meaning for some Medicare plans this year. Some have changed a LOT (mostly for the better) and some have barely budged from last year's benefit design. ONE THING FOR SURE, the chances of finding the right plan have never been better once you know where and how to look. A couple of things as we near the end of Medicare Annual Election Period (AEP).
1. If you are doing your Medicare research, please be aware that "Medicare-dot-com" is NOT a government site. The correct address for Medicare is "Medicare.gov." Don't be fooled.
2. December 7th is the last day to make a change in most cases.

The Annual Election Period for Medicare starts October 15th. HEY, THAT'S NEXT WEEK!!! This is the best time to review what you have and make changes for next year. I would be happy to work with you to get you settled in the right plan for next year. There is NEVER a charge to call to discuss, or come to the office to discuss your plans/questions! May 18th = Back in the Office!! Mask & All safe distancing practices will be observed. ***However***
