HOY VIERNES A LA 1PM, LA BASE CONJUNTA DE CHARLESTON HARÁ UNA PRUEBA A SU SISTEMA DE NOTIFICACIÓN DE EMERGENCIAS ⛑️ “GIANT VOICE”

Hoy, 13 de marzo de 2026, la Base Conjunta Charleston llevará a cabo una prueba completa de todos los audios almacenados en el sistema de notificación de emergencias "Giant Voice" de la instalación.
Así lo dio a conocer la Joint Base Charleston en un comunicado público:

“ HoyEntre la 1:00 p. m. y las 2:30 p. m., los miembros de la comunidad podrían escuchar anuncios sobre emergencias meteorológicas, sirenas, advertencias de seguridad y música. Los mensajes emitidos irán precedidos por la frase: "Esto es una prueba del sistema Giant Voice. Esto es una prueba". Las pruebas concluirán con el mensaje: "Con esto concluye la prueba del sistema Giant Voice. Puesto de Mando, cambio y fuera".

Por favor, no llame al 911 para reportar estos mensajes. Si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud específica, comuníquese con el Puesto de Mando de la Base Conjunta Charleston al (843) 963-8400.

Yield means:
👀 Look.
🧠 Think.
🛑 Slow your roll.
🚗 Let the other car go if they got there first.

It does not mean:
❌ Floor it and pray.
❌ Stare directly at the other driver to assert dominance.
❌ Pretend you didn’t see it because you’re already late.

Think of it like good Southern manners. If someone’s already in the intersection, you let them pass. We’re sharing the road, not auditioning for an action movie. So next time you see this little red triangle, take a breath, check for traffic, and glide in smoothly like the responsible road legend you are.

El Departamento de Policía de North Charleston (NCPD) está buscando activamente a Genesis Yolanda Castillo-Hernandez, de 5 años, quien se encuentra desaparecida. La última vez que se la vio, vestía un suéter naranja, pantalones deportivos naranjas, zapatos rosas y llevaba una mochila morada.

Distracted drivers, beware!

With just one month left until law enforcement in South Carolina begins issuing citations for the Hands Free and Distracted Driving Act, now is the time to correct your distracted driving habit.

Avoid hefty fines, points on your license, and potential higher insurance rates by putting the phone down while at the wheel.

New Year, new address: The new site has finally arrived!

You can find everything you expect from the SCDMV at our new website, dmv.sc.gov. Please update your links (but the old address will continue to redirect to the new site in 2026).

We also are switching to .sc.gov for our email. Emails being sent to the old addresses will be forwarded to the new ones, at least through 2026.

CLASES DE INGLES !
Jueves, Oct. 9 es el último dia que aceptan nuevos estudiantes en la clase de inglés gratuita.
Si desea registrarse necesita llegar a las 5:00 pm porque las clases empiezan a las 5:30 pm. No se aceptaran nuevos estudiantes despues de las 5:30 pm. Tomorrow, Thursday Oct. 9 is the last day to accept students. They must be there at 5 pm to register because at 5:30 pm sharp classes start and no more new students will be accepted after that time.
