I had the wonderful opportunity to support the local MOAA chapter at their annual golf outing. It was a great tournament, supporting a great cause and getting to play with great friends. As I reflected on the tournament, I realized golf isn’t about avoiding hazards; it’s about playing around them, and the same goes for financial planning.
Good golfers:
• Map the course
• Pick the right club
• Accept calculated risk
• Adjust when they land in the rough
A thoughtful financial plan follows the same approach: Know the risks. Position accordingly. Stay flexible. Because trying to “play it safe” on every shot doesn’t always move you forward. It’s not about avoiding the hazards, it’s about navigating them intentionally.
