Saving! If your income was affected, it is a reminder of the importance of having savings for unexpected emergencies. If your income wasn’t affected, you probably were spending less than normal because you were cooped up in your house. Don’t spend it. Invest it. Live on less than you earn.

Health Insurance This is a perfect example of making sure you have a quality health insurance plan at an affordable price before something bad happens and you need to use it. Open Enrollment for most plans is coming up.

As little as possible. Keep in mind you pay health insurance premium and Out-of-Pocket expenses. These two areas account for your total cost. I like to look at keeping this sum total as low as possible. If you have an employer that pays a portion of the premium, you are fortunate. There isn’t one size that fits all. Most insurance policies are age-based. So, the older you get, the more it costs. Working with an agent, like me :), is the best way to get professional advice. I think you should pay as little premium as possible to the insurance company. That could leave you with more Out-of-Pocket costs if you don’t have a healthy year. Some are uncomfortable with this and prefer to pay more premium for a plan that has lower Out-of-Pocket costs. What you don’t want to do is go without health insurance. Like other forms of insurance, you want to protect against a financial hardship by incurring large costs from an unexpected health issue.

Speak with a doctor - anytime 24/7, anywhere - about your health care questions via your phone, mobile app, or online video from your computer. If you haven’t done so, open your account with the provider your insurance company uses and get started. Contact your insurance company from the 800 number on the back of your ID card. Do so before the need arises.

Dollar Cost Averaging is an investment strategy whereby purchases are made at regular intervals over a long period of time. Monthly investments over many years help reduce the impact of volatility on the overall purchase. Patience is your friend when investing.
