We’ve got some updates for you, Norman!

DEBRIS CLEANUP UPDATE
Assessment has been completed by a specialized contractor for debris management and an agreement should be finalized in the near future. Debris collection will assist homeowners in clearing property through curbside services at no cost. Full instruction for collection is expected to be shared mid-week with collection beginning as soon as the end of the week. Frequent Normanok.gov for updates. In preparation of pickup plans, vegetative debris can be prepped now by residents if desired. Vegetative debris includes storm damaged limbs, branches, shrubbery, and other burnable woody debris. Material should be cut in 8 – 12’ lengths and stacked in piles along the street rights-of-way, within 5 feet of the curb or edge of the roadway.

TRANSFER AND COMPOST STATIONS
Beginning at 1 PM 7/6/26, only residential units visiting the Transfer Station and Compost Facility in Norman will be accepted for drop-offs. With full staff and equipment running, the stations are overwhelmed by incoming loads. Contractors will need to haul to other locations, such as:
• Republic Landfill at I-240 and Bryant in OKC
• Brooksville Road Environmental Services in Tecumseh
Residents utilizing either the Transfer Station or Compost Facility in Norman should bring their utility bill or a form of ID with a Norman address. The Compost Facility will take vegetation that is no longer than 8 feet and no more than 12 inches in diameter.
