Just returned home after a high-impact international trip spanning Doha → the Netherlands → back to Doha (Jan 25–Feb 5), and I’m energized by the momentum created for Boyd Street Ventures.
Doha | Jan 25–27
The trip began in Doha with early ecosystem conversations and relationship-building ahead of the summit—setting the stage for a highly productive stretch.
Netherlands | Jan 28–31
Midway through the trip, I traveled to the Netherlands to work closely with two medical device companies that BSV plans to bring into the U.S. market. Our focus was on commercialization strategy, regulatory pathways, and U.S. go-to-market ex*****on. I also met with a buyout firm as part of our preparation for potential acquisitions of targeted BSV portfolio companies within our long-term value-creation strategy.
Doha | Feb 1–5
I returned to Doha for Web Summit Qatar, attending VENTURE on day one and spending the following days immersed in exceptional content, high-quality founder meetings, and investor conversations. The summit opened with an unforgettable Questlove concert—an energizing start to a strong week.
The remainder of the summit included meaningful meetings with Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority, Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council, and Qatar Investment Authority—reinforcing Qatar’s growing role as a global hub for innovation, capital, and cross-border collaboration.
Bottom line: a very successful trip, globally connected, ex*****on-focused, and aligned with BSV’s long-term platform strategy. This work will pay dividends for our firm, our LPs, and our portfolio companies as we continue to scale thoughtfully across markets.
Grateful for the conversations and partnerships—now it’s time to execute.
