🚨Tax Payments Due Soon🚨

June 15th, 2026 is the next date to look out for - if you received vouchers with your tax return and your filing instructions say you need to make a payment for the second quarter, here is your friendly reminder!

You can write your checks and bring them and your vouchers to us if you’d like, or you can mail them yourself. This applies to both the Internal Revenue Service and the Oklahoma Tax Commission; both payments are due on the same date.

Alternatively, you may also make those payments online for both the IRS and the OTC - whichever works best for you!

Next up on the IRS “Dirty Dozen” list: helpful scammers.

It is advised that taxpayers create their own IRS account directly through https://www.irs.gov, and should not seek third parties offering assistance for account setup; nor should you accept help if a third-party reaches out to you regarding setting up an account. The IRS can offer official guidance to help taxpayers securely establish and protect their accounts they create. Information you input while creating your account can be used to steal your identity.

An IRS account can be beneficial; taxpayers can access key tax return information, request an IRS IP PIN and keep track of it throughout the year, make or cancel payments to the IRS, and even set-up or modify payment plans, among other benefits like accessing certain tax documents.

It is encouraged that if you feel like creating such an account, you do so using the official IRS website below, and on your own, to lower the risk of your information being stolen or used.

Next up on the IRS “Dirty Dozen” list, social media influencers and taxes:

Misleading tax advice is all over social media – reels or videos pushing viral “tax hacks” that pressure the taxpayer to file their return with false information or to claim credits you are not qualified for. This leads to delays on your refund, audits, and penalties.

Remember, taxpayers who knowingly file fraudulent returns can potentially face significant civil and criminal penalties. It is best practice to follow trusted advice from the IRS or your tax professionals and not influencers online. Often times if something is too good to be true - it actually is!
