🌪️ Weather Alert for Atlanta ⚠️

If you have weekend plans, keep an eye on the forecast and official alerts. Hurricane Isaias may bring strong winds and heavy rain to parts of Georgia, with a risk of localized flooding and tornadoes. Stay especially alert from the night of October 9 through the morning of October 11.

🏠 Before heading out:
▫️ Secure flowerpots, patio furniture, and other outdoor items
▫️ Clear drains and move important belongings to higher ground
▫️ Prepare drinking water, a flashlight, a power bank, and essential medications
▫️ Park away from large trees and low-lying areas prone to flooding

🚗 Traveling this weekend? Check conditions along your route before you leave. Avoid driving in severe weather when possible. Never drive through floodwater—turn around, don’t drown!

🏡 Insurance reminder: Coverage for storm damage depends on the cause of the damage and your policy. Flood damage is generally not covered by standard homeowners' insurance, so check your coverage in advance.

🚨 Operation Southern Slow Down is Back! 🚨
The annual Operation Southern Slow Down traffic enforcement campaign is taking place July 13–18, 2026.
Law enforcement agencies across Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee will be working together to increase traffic enforcement throughout the week.
🚔 Officers will be focusing on:
• Speeding
• Aggressive driving
• Unsafe lane changes
• Other dangerous driving behaviors that can lead to crashes
If you’re traveling this week, expect to see more patrol cars and speed enforcement on the roads.
Drive safely, obey the speed limit, and help keep everyone safe. Safe travels! 🚗💙
