Beginning with the 2026 tax year, many taxpayers may be able to deduct charitable cash contributions even if they do not itemize deductions.

Current provisions allow:
• Up to $1,000 for single filers
• Up to $2,000 for married filing jointly

To qualify, donations generally must be:
✔ Cash, check, or credit card contributions
✔ Made to qualified charitable organizations
✔ Properly documented with receipts or acknowledgements
