There are going to be quite a few changes for the 2026 enrollment period this year. While we can't speak about the Marketplace/ACA at this point until the government shutdown is resolved, a big part of that is continuing the subsidies for those over 400% Federal Poverty Level. That will affect quite a few people by going back to the original ACA plan that started 12 years ago, but many of you won't see any changes. On the senior market, be aware that multiple companies are stopping commissions for their RX and Advantage plans, even taking them off the quoting sites agents use to help get the best plan for their clients. You will need to go to Medicare.gov and either sign in or pick Part D plans in your zip code to see your options. So for those of you with Medicare, you should let the carriers know that what they are doing is not beneficial are can negatively effect your budgets and access to your medications. As always, I hope my clients call me with concerns and I will help like I have done in the past.

It keeps getting better from when the ACA was first instituted. I know it is a pain so this is showing that the carriers are taking steps to make it easier on us all.

Centene is proud to participate in AHIP’s efforts to address the challenges members and providers experience with prior authorizations, an important step in improving how high-quality care is delivered.

We were afraid this was going to happen. There may still be a chance to get MU Health covered in the future like Mercy did after the contract negotiations continued after the deadline.

The University of Missouri announced Monday that Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will remove coverage for all MU Health facilities.

We didn't think it would happen, but it did. If you have recently changed away from Anthem to keep your Mercy doctors, we have until December 7th with Medicare annual enrollment, January 1st through March 31st to change a current Medicare Advantage plan to a different Advantage plan and until January 15th to change your Healthcare Marketplace account(under 65) to get or keep Anthem. Please reach out if you need any help.

Mercy and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri (Anthem) have reached a new multi-year agreement providing Anthem members with continued access to affordable, high-quality care at all Mercy hospitals, outpatient care centers and physician offices across Missouri.

Medicaid members losing eligibility now have more time to enroll in a Marketplace plan. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a Marketplace Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for qualified individuals and their families who lose Medicaid or CHIP coverage due to the end of the continuous enrollment condition, also known as “unwinding.”

This Unwinding SEP will allow individuals and families in Marketplaces served by HealthCare.gov to enroll in a Marketplace plan outside of the annual Open Enrollment period. CMS will update HealthCare.gov so that Marketplace-eligible consumers who submit a new application or update an existing application between March 31, 2023 and July 31, 2024, and attest to a last date of Medicaid or CHIP coverage within the same time period, are eligible for an Unwinding SEP. Consumers who are eligible for the Unwinding SEP will have 60 days after they submit their application to select a Marketplace plan with coverage that starts the first day of the month after they select a plan.

Example: If the member loses Medicaid eligibility in May 2023, they could apply in April 2024, and attest to losing coverage in May 2023. Their 60 days to choose a plan starts in April 2024, on the date they applied for Marketplace coverage.

It is official. The first day of Open Enrollment on the Marketplace. They are giving us until January 15th to get a 2022 plan but if you want your plan to start by January we need to get it done by December 15th. Thanks to all my current clients, we will be talking soon. And to all my new clients this year, I look forward to meeting you all and making your decision experience as painless as possible.

I want to thank everyone that has shared my name and business over all these years. Without you, I wouldn't have the incredible client base that I have. It's always nice to be recognized, but it is more important to be trusted and respected. Thank you everyone!

From now until August, you can sign up for or change coverage through the federal and state health insurance marketplaces. Many people are eligible for better or less expensive plans — or both.
