FNNB Bank

FNNB Bank FNNB Bank originally opened its doors in 1882. The Bank is owned and operated by people that call Jasper County home. Where we came from…. Also in 2008, Robert M.

FNNB Bank is still a locally owned, “hometown” bank with a long history of providing efficient, courteous service to all its customers. We pride ourselves on being a great community citizen by being active in the community. With nearly 50 years of the same ownership the Bank’s values have continued to remain the same. Financially FNNB Bank is strong and stable, which has ensured those values remai

n the same for our customers. The Bank was forced to close its doors for a short period of time during the bank holiday of the Great Depression. A group of local businessmen reorganized the bank and chartered it as the Newton National Bank. In 1977 the bank was re-titled First Newton National Bank. In 1981 First Newton National Bank acquired the adjacent building for additional space. In 1998 the Bank went through a complete interior remodeling to better utilize space and serve the public. In 2008 the Bank remodeled the building next door for what was a much needed increase in additional space; today that space consists of conference rooms and office space. Kahn, a 4th generation banker, came back to First Newton National Bank to continue the tradition and values that First Newton National has always operated under. To this day the Bank continues to be Newton’s only locally owned financial institution. The Bank has always been innovative in the use of new ideas and technology. First Newton National Bank was the first bank in Newton to offer ATM cards and have Automated Teller Machines. In 1997 Bank-by-Phone was added and in early 2000 the Bank began offering Internet Banking to its customers. In 2012 the Bank rolled out a mobile banking application for utilization on its customer’s phones. In 2016 that application was updated and modified to allow for mobile deposit. Also in 2016, the Bank made the decision to convert to a State Chartered institution and transition from its National Bank Charter. With that conversion the Bank will have had to change its name to FNNB Bank.

The Bank is hosting a FOOD DRIVE and would welcome anyone who can help to drop some items off at the The Bank and we'll get the items to Salvation Army Newton, Iowa! Please bring the items to the Bank and drop them off in the lobby.

The drive will start today and run through Thursday the 20th (next week). We'll try and deliver all of the items on Friday the 21st. With the help of Salvation Army we have some items that they thought might be good for suggestions:

shelf stable milk, soups, spaghetti sauce, hamburger helper, tuna helper, mac & cheese, baked beans, boxed potatoes, and canned fruits.

Please don't think the list above is the only items needed, anything you can do to help or provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Happy to contribute to Salvation Army Newton, Iowa in a time of need!
