Please join us in congratulating Valdet Abazi on his promotion to AVP, Business Development Officer! 💙

Valdet has been part of The Village Bank since 2021, serving in several leadership roles across our branch network and building strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and the communities we serve.

In his new role, Valdet will focus on developing new commercial relationships, deepening existing accounts, and representing The Village Bank throughout the community.

Our Village Bankers have been out and about
this summer! 💙☀️

From community celebrations and networking events to volunteer opportunities and grand openings, we’ve been grateful for every chance to connect and show our support.

Recently, our team joined Newton Police Department’s National Night Out, where our mascot Coop made his second community appearance for an evening of live music, food, games, and family fun. We also attended the Waltham Chamber of Commerce Annual Luncheon and connected with local business and community leaders at the Charles River Regional Chamber’s Summer Celebration at Commodore Builders.

Village Bankers also teamed up with Service Stars Kids to assemble skateboards for children and teens in foster care through Foster Love, joined the Waltham Boys & Girls Club for its Midsummer Spike Event, and helped celebrate the grand opening of The Coworking House Newton.

We’re grateful for every opportunity to show up, build relationships, and support the communities around us.

It takes a VILLAGE 💙

Congratulations to our 2026 scholarship recipients! 🎓

This year, the Auburndale Community Charitable Foundation awarded $54,000 in scholarships to 19 local students as they prepare to take the next step in their education.

A special shoutout to Roaa Ben Aiad of Newton South High School, pictured here receiving one of this year’s two $10,000 scholarships! 🎉

We’re proud to support these students as they continue their educational journeys and can’t wait to see what’s ahead for them. 💙

Ready, set, pack! 🎒📚🖍️

Our Village Bankers recently joined Cradles to Crayons for two Backpack-A-Thon volunteer events. We helped pack brand new school supplies into backpacks for students across Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

Together, volunteers filled more than 50,000 backpacks, helping thousands of students head into the new school year with the supplies they need to learn and succeed.
