In honor of our 175th anniversary, CNB will donate $175.00 on behalf of each of our employees to the nonprofit or charity of their choice! Follow along all year as we highlight our employees and the many organizations they have chosen to support.

Today we’re highlighting Amelia Stosz – one of our Derby Custodians. Ameila is donating to Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Society. They helped rehome her cat, Bartholomew, who she loved dearly but couldn’t keep due to behavioral issues. She will always be grateful to Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Society for their love and support, and for making a time that would have been heartbreaking bearable.

Today we’re highlighting Shelly Morey – who works in our Derby Office. Shelly is donating to Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Society, an organization close to her heart for more than 20 years. She supported their early fundraising efforts and served on their board before they had a building. Today, it continues caring for strays, managing the local pet population, and finding homes for animals in need. Shelly knows this donation will be a meaningful boost for the dedicated volunteers helping pets across Orleans County.

Fur Fest is just a month away! Can you believe it? We’re gearing up for a truly special event on September 26th, and we hope you’ll join us for this heartwarming celebration.

Fur Fest is one of the many fundraisers our shelter hosts throughout the year to fuel our life-saving work for community pets. Because our generous sponsors completely covered our event expenses this year, 100% of the proceeds will go directly toward providing vital care for hundreds of shelter animals!

We want to give a huge thank you to our sponsors this year:
🌟🐕🐈Animal Champion Sponsor: Onion River Animal Hospital
🐶 Pet Chow Sponsor: Community National Bank, VT
🐱Happy Meower Sponsors: Electric Co-op and ’s Farm and Yard (Montpelier)
🐾 Animal Friend Sponsor: VILLAGE HOMES

We are so grateful for their support! Each Thursday leading up to Fur Fest, we will put the spotlight on one of our sponsors for our Thankful Thursday series to express our thanks, and showcase their impact on the animals at CVHS.

Does your business want to join? There’s still time to sponsor! Visit https://centralvermonthumane.org/fur-fest-september-26/ to learn more about this special event and the great benefits offered in our sponsorship packages.

Spotlight on Success: Travis Driver

Success in banking rarely happens all at once. It usually starts with someone willing to learn, a team willing to support them, and the decision to keep taking the next step.

That’s why we’re excited to celebrate Travis and his continued growth at Community National Bank, VT.

Currently serving as a teller, Travis has already been building a strong foundation for where he wants to go next. His long-term goal is to become a residential lender, and he’s using education through CFTEA to help get there.

What stands out is how seriously he approaches understanding the bigger picture of banking. Travis shared that his coursework has helped him better understand “what it takes to run a bank, from operational structure to fraud prevention, as well as the importance of fostering a respectful workplace and understanding banking laws and regulations.”

That perspective matters because strong financial institutions are built by people who want to keep learning beyond the role they currently hold.

What also came through clearly was how much the experience itself mattered to him. When asked about working with CFTEA, Travis said the organization is “incredibly easy to work with” and appreciated the flexibility to complete courses in ways that fit his schedule and learning style.

One part that especially stood out was his appreciation for the personal support along the way:
“One of the highlights of my experience has been the ability to easily connect with Tammy, who is always quick to respond and incredibly helpful.”

Sometimes the difference between starting and stopping comes down to knowing someone is there to help when questions come up.

And maybe the most powerful thing Travis shared was this:
“My journey doesn’t end after completing a course, I am always motivated to enroll in another.”

That says a lot about his mindset, his curiosity, and his commitment to continued growth.

Congratulations, Travis, and thank you to Community National Bank for continuing to support employees who are building their future one step at a time.
