MEDICARE’S ANNUAL ENROLLMENT PERIOD ▫️October 15 - December 7

It is nearly impossible to miss the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) each year with the increased advertisements on TV and radio, in addition to those you receive in the mail. How can you find out what is really covered?
All Medicare Square agents are California licensed and certified with the majority of Medicare Advantage plans available in Southern California. We are also well-versed in Northern California plans as well, so don’t be afraid to ask.
The Annual Enrollment Period, also known as AEP, is for all Medicare beneficiaries whether they are enrolled with a Medicare Advantage (MA), Stand-Alone Prescription Drug Plan (PDP), or even no additional coverage at all.
During this enrollment period Medicare beneficiaries can:
Switch Medicare Advantage Plans
Switch Stand-Alone Part D plans
Disenroll from a Medicare Advantage Plan and revert back to Original Medicare
Join a Stand-Alone Part D plan
Leave Original Medicare and join a Medicare Advantage Plan
Each year, Medicare Advantage and Stand-Alone Prescription Drugs Plans can make changes to their hospital, medical, and prescription drug benefits. If they can make changes, it’s only fair that you can too!
The new plan year benefits are released on October 1st each year. This is a good time to review the changes with your Medicare Square insurance agent and start comparing your options.
The first day to complete a new plan application is October 15th and the last day is December 7th. The final plan you have chosen by December 7th will be effective on January 1st. If you do not complete a plan application for new coverage, your current plan will automatically renew as long as it continues to be available. You shouldn’t just ignore this important time and hope for the best.
