As I arrive in beautiful Scottsdale, AZ (which also happens to be my hometown) for Homebridge Financial All Stars trip, I think back not on my production success alone but more importantly the relationships I have built and life lessons I have learned from many of my dear customers. Last week, I received a tough call from a crying man for whom I competed 2 Reverse Mortgage loans who stated, “You have practically become family now, and I wanted to let you know that my wife passed away during back surgery.” I was so touched that he reached out and saddened by the news that I have committed to myself and look forward to reaching out to him for a monthly call to help with his loneliness. In my 20 years of being a Reverse Mortgage Specialist, I have seen the reputation of this product change and countless lives that the product has changed. It doesn’t matter that recently in a restaurant, a middle aged less than educated commercial loan broker called me the Grim Reaper when I told him my occupation. I have my customers’ own feedback and relationships that make me proud to be in this industry.
