According to an official California Department of Real Estate press release, no fraud occurred and no consumers were harmed.
The crime? Lance McHarg committed too hard to giving his students current, real, applicable exam material.
Instead of transparency — instead of simply making the test standards and material available to everyone — the system chose punishment:
a 3-year industry ban, a $60,000 penalty, and total removal from education, instruction, ownership, or affiliation.
Apparently the correct response wasn’t reform — it was exile.
Someone get this man a medal for commitment to education… then confiscate it immediately for knowing too much.
In systems that punish competence and reward secrecy, it’s no wonder leadership elsewhere turns into cowboy politics — stealing other presidents’ resources and bragging about it like that’s strength, not decay. 👉 Source: California DRE disciplinary action
