Financial confidence doesn’t start with knowing everything. It starts with knowing where you stand.

Here are three numbers worth checking:

1️⃣ Monthly cash flow
How much comes in each month and how much goes out? Understanding the difference helps you make intentional decisions instead of wondering where your money went.

2️⃣ Net worth
Add up what you own, then subtract what you owe. This number isn’t a judgment, it’s a starting point you can track over time.

3️⃣ Emergency cushion
How many months of essential expenses could your available savings cover? Your ideal amount depends on your income, household, responsibilities, and comfort level.

You don’t need perfect numbers today. You need a clear picture and a next step.

Save this post, choose one number, and spend 15 minutes finding yours.

Want to continue the conversation in a welcoming, judgment-free setting? Join us for Wealth & W**e in Newport Beach on Wednesday, October 14. We’ll talk about building a plan, protecting what matters, and feeling more confident with your money.

Tickets are available through the link in bio. 🍷

Trump Accounts are officially here, and they affect nearly every family with a child under 18.

Here’s the short version: any child under 18 with a Social Security number can now have a Trump Account opened for them. It works like a Roth IRA for kids, with contributions invested in low cost U.S. stock index funds and growth that’s tax deferred until the funds are withdrawn.

If your child was born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028, the federal government adds a one time $1,000 seed deposit. Families can then contribute up to $5,000 a year on top of that.

I’m hosting three complimentary virtual sessions this month to walk through how these accounts work, who qualifies for the $1,000, the contribution and investment rules, and how a Trump Account fits alongside a 529 plan or your broader financial picture.

Pick the time that works for you:
Wednesday, September 16 at 12:00 PM PT
Tuesday, September 22 at 6:00 PM PT
Thursday, September 24 at 10:00 AM PT

All sessions are virtual, complimentary, and open to any parent or grandparent who wants clarity before making a decision. Link in bio to register.

This session is educational only and is not tax or legal advice.

💡 Women & Life Insurance: Let’s Talk About the Gap

Nearly 44% of women say they need (or need more) life insurance — yet ownership still trails behind men.

Why?

📊 Common concerns & misconceptions:

❌ “It’s too expensive” – 42%
❌ “I have other financial priorities” – 30%
❌ “I’m not sure how much I need” – 25%

And perhaps most telling…

👉 Only 22% of women say they feel very knowledgeable about life insurance.

Not because women aren’t financially capable — in fact, 55% feel confident managing finances — but because insurance conversations are often confusing, jargon-heavy, or framed around worst-case scenarios.

Life insurance isn’t just about final expenses.

It can play a role in:

✔️ Income protection
✔️ Wealth building
✔️ Retirement strategies
✔️ Long-term security

Education changes everything.

When people understand how something works, decisions become clearer and far less intimidating.

✨ Financial literacy isn’t about selling products. It’s about expanding options.

If you’ve ever felt unsure, overwhelmed, or simply curious about how life insurance actually fits into a financial plan…

👇 What’s been your biggest question or misconception about it?

Let’s normalize the conversation.

Tax Season Tip: How to Get More Value From Your IRA Contributions 💰

If you’re working on your taxes and thinking, “I still need to fund my IRA,” you’re not alone. Many people make IRA contributions right up against the tax deadline—and while earlier is better for compounding, late is still far better than never.

Here are 4 smart ways to get the most out of your IRA during tax season 👇

1️⃣ Choose the right IRA type (Traditional vs. Roth)
The key question isn’t just “Which one can I use?”—it’s:
👉 Do I need the tax break now or later?

Traditional IRA: potential tax deduction today

Roth IRA: tax-free growth + withdrawals later

High earners may still access Roths via the backdoor Roth strategy

2️⃣ Don’t overlook a spousal IRA
If one spouse isn’t currently earning income, you may still be able to fund an IRA in their name—a huge opportunity many couples miss that can double retirement savings.

3️⃣ Use contributions to fix portfolio gaps
Instead of guessing what to invest in:

Use new contributions to balance what your portfolio is missing (bonds, international stocks, etc.)

Or keep it simple with a target-date fund aligned to your retirement timeline

4️⃣ Do a quick IRA “maintenance check”
Tax season is the perfect time to:

Review old IRAs or rollover accounts

Confirm backdoor Roth conversions were completed correctly

Consolidate scattered IRAs to simplify tracking and strategy

💡 Bottom line: IRA contributions aren’t just a tax checkbox—they’re a chance to improve your long-term plan.

If you’re unsure which IRA strategy makes sense this tax year, that’s exactly the kind of question financial planning is designed to answer.
