Sarah Shirazi Reznick, CFP Financial Advisor
Sherfina Advisors
A financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC I also learned it took a lot of work and sacrifice.

Working the cash register of my parents’ small business at 8 years old, I quickly learned the steps to secure a strong financial future: work hard, live within your means and save. Those early experiences sparked my desire to empower business owners to feel confident about their own financial outcomes. That path led me to become a financial advisor in 2011. Stephanie and Sandra, our branch office

administrators, create a space where clients feel cared for, comfortable and understood. Our office has a “family feel” uniquely generated by three working mothers who understand what people’s concerns are. My ideal client is at what I call that “fuzzy moment” in their financial journey – knowing what they want, not quite sure how to get there, and open to a collaboration that will help move them toward their goals. Knowing this, I ask my clients to bring what I call AAAP:

The Ability to reach their goals. An Attitude that values and appreciates the importance professional advice. A spirit of Advocacy to make an impact in their communities. And the Potential that comes from being in the growth stage of their career and willing to make the most of that moment in their lives. I have first-hand experience making sure changes in circumstance don’t mean changes in a family’s financial health. I divorced at a young age and took that chance to make some major life changes. Today, I’m happily married to my husband, my high school sweetheart. My spirit of advocacy also led to serving on my local school board and involvement with the Alzheimer’s Association and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Ventura County. I bring that same spirit to serving my clients – one who help take them up their personal mountain of financial dreams and safely navigate them down to that moment in their lives where they reap the rewards. I got a note today that I'll be keeping forever.
My son Wynn's math teacher reached out to share something from a "getting to know you" assignment during the first week of school. The question: Who is someone you look up to in life — someone who inspires you to be your best self?
His answer: "My mom, because she started her own business."
Nine words. I've read them probably fifty times today.
There's a version of "why I do this work" that lives in financial plans and spreadsheets — helping people retire with confidence, hand a business they built with their own hands to the next chapter, live with less money anxiety and more intention. I believe in that version completely.
But this is the other version. The one where my kids are watching. Where building Sherfina — this practice, this community of clients and colleagues I get to walk alongside — was never separate from being their mom. It's part of how I show them what's possible.
I'm so proud of what we're building here. Not just a practice, but something I hope ripples outward — into how our clients live, how this community grows, and into how my own three boys see the world and their place in it.
And I'm endlessly grateful for Oaks Christian, and for teachers like Wynn's who take the time to notice these moments and pass them along. My kids are growing up in such an amazing school, surrounded by people who care about who they're becoming, not just what they know.
Most days the "why" behind the work stays abstract. Today it had a name, and it called me Mom.
