I owned my bar in Brooklyn for almost 7 yrs. My daughter was raised on maraschino cherries and chicken fingers, and did her homework on a barstool. She swept the floors, wiped down tables, and helped count the bartender’s tips. My boys came a little later, and were raised on in our bed-and-breakfast making beds, doing dishes and greeting guests. It’s a life we knew for a very long time.

Today I got to spend an amazing day with the NYSRA’s Top 10 Women to look out for in the Restaurant Industry of New York. It was also spent with at least 100 other women who all belong in the top 10 for the dedication they give to their own businesses in this amazingly difficult industry. It was an honor to spend the day with them. Sometimes I miss it, but I know what I do makes a huge difference in their lives, and their success. Cheers to many more years!
