Interesting WSJ article - relevant for RE. Talks about unemployment rates by state and the share of leisure/hospitality & manufacturing in each state. Not surprisingly, states with the highest exposure to tourism have the highest unemployment rates (Nevada - 28%, Hawaii - 22%). Michigan is also high at 22% due to high exposure to automotive industry. That's why as a RE investor it's risky to buy anywhere where one industry dominates.

The upheaval caused by the coronavirus had a devastating but uneven impact on the U.S. labor market last month, leaving more than one in five workers jobless in Nevada, Michigan and Hawaii, data showed Friday.
