When’s the right time to lock your interest rate? 🔒

There’s no perfect day to do it. Rates move constantly based on the market and economic news.

My advice: if you’re comfortable with the monthly payment, consider locking it in. If rates drop, there may be options to adjust. If you stay unlocked and rates rise, you could be stuck with a higher payment.

Save this for when you’re ready to buy and share it with someone navigating the mortgage process.

The 10-year Treasury just broke 5%, and the market is pricing in an 83% chance of a Fed rate hike this week.

A new bill is proposing that homeowners with certain Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac-backed loans could potentially take their existing mortgage with them when they move.
