The first Labor Day Holiday to celebrate workers was on September 5, 1882 in New York City. By 1894, 23 more states had adopted the holiday, and on June 28, 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed a law making the first Monday in September of each year a national holiday to celebrate the American worker.

Star Mountain Capital is celebrating National Intern Day and the contributions of its summer interns.

This year, over 25 interns from 9 universities joined the New York and Tampa offices, working across departments such as Portfolio Management, Direct and Secondary Investments, Investor Relations and Technology.

The program runs year round, with the summer session including a weekly private credit course led by the firm’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and adjunct University of Miami professor, Austin Ericson.

More than 50% of Star Mountain’s junior team began as interns, reflecting the firm’s commitment to developing talent from within.
