Destined For Greatness NY DFGNY is a grassroots movement to enhance, empower, and motivate individuals through educational workshops, resources, seminars, and events.

Background:

In 1998 a life-changing experience began when Bonetta’s son, Christopher was diagnosed with autism at the age of 5. As a single mother with no knowledge of her son’s diagnosis or resources that are available to her son, Bonetta decided to resign form a wonderful career in the Corporate Sector as a Mortgage Bank Loan Officer and Makeup Artist, to do intensive training, research an acti

ve advocacy for her son as well as countless of other individuals and families who are dealing with the same challenges. Autism statistics from the US CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION (CDC) identify around 1 million American children as on the Autism Spectrum – a 600 percent increase in prevalence over the past two decades. An estimated 1 out of 70 boys is diagnosed with autism in the United States. Autism affects an estimated 3 million individuals in the US and tens of millions worldwide. Bonetta takes part in raising funds for Autistic causes and also raises awareness for research so that she cannot only help to provide services for her son but also for the millions of people that have autism and their families. Today increase research is now coming up with answers to lower the number of children born with autism.
