Storm damage can be hard to find if you don't know what to look for.
When the storm damage is subtle, many property owners and insurance adjusters (especially CAT adjusters from out-of-town) won’t notice it.
As a result, the policyholder gets underpaid for their claim, doesn't makes the repairs, and lives with the damage. Then one day, when the policyholder finally notices the damage – guess what? It's too late.
For example:
High winds can cause shingles to lift and unseal, which breaks the watertight seal that protects the home. Eventually, roof leaks develop and the policyholder must pay out-of-pocket to repair the roof.
Storms can also cause “racking” as the structure bends and twists in strong winds. Damage from “racking” can include popped drywall screws, sticky doors and windows, and squeaky floors.
At Claimly Public Adjustment, we are storm damage experts and can identify even the most subtle of damages. This helps ensure our clients get paid what they deserve so they can make the repairs they need.
