To keep US from defaulting, the debt ceiling must be raised. That means smaller businesses will have a harder time seeking out loans in the future. Best to do right now is to make good friends with your vendors and secure your resources.

The debt ceiling deal that the Senate and House will vote on this week would reduce deficits over 10 years by at least $2.1 trillion. That's the verdict from the all-important nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, which is the official scorekeeper for all legislation.
